Publications and materials
Our aim is to convey information, perspectives, and topics for discussion about the development work of rescue sector organisations and related public debate.
Our publications and materials are also widely used as study materials for vocational upper secondary education and training and continuing professional education in our field. Most of the authors are instructors or researchers employed by the Emergency Services Academy.
Electronic datasets and databases
We maintain and develop some of the key digital datasets and databases of the rescue sector, such as the TOKEVA instructions (in Finnish) and the Pelastustoiminnan johtamisen käsikirja (Rescue Operations Command Handbook, in Finnish).
Rescue service statistics (Pronto)
The rescue services’ resource and accident statistics system Pronto is used for monitoring and improving rescue services and investigating accidents.
Pronto contains information on rescue services’ assignments and measures. Information on e.g. preparedness, resources, public safety communications, and the disclosure of information is also stored in the system.
The Emergency Services Academy maintains and develops the Pronto system and national statistics production in the rescue service sector.
