About Emergency Services Academy Finland
The Emergency Services Academy is a national educational institution and a government agency. The Academy strengthens the safety and security of society by providing vocational education, further training, and continuing professional education for rescue service and emergency response centre professionals. The Academy also provides preparedness training.
The Emergency Services Academy is responsible for the training system of contract fire brigade personnel as well as for the training, recruitment, and deployment of personnel to international civil protection operations. The Academy coordinates research, development, and innovation activities (RDI) in rescue services and maintains the rescue services’ central library.
The Academy complies with the values of the rescue sector in its operations and strives to ensure that the professionals it trains also commit to working humanely, professionally and reliably – and collaboratively.
Strategy, operational planning and monitoring
The Emergency Services Academy plans its activities in accordance with the annual performance targets. Operational performance targets are laid down in the performance target document between the Ministry of the Interior and the Emergency Services Academy. The performance targets comply with the strategic objectives of the Emergency Services Academy and the Joint Strategy for the Ministry of the Interior and implement the Government Programme for the administrative branch.

Instructions for visitors
Welcome to the Emergency Services Academy! When you arrive at the campus, please report at the lobby service desk by the main entrance. There you can also get the required parking permit and information on the general practices of the Emergency Services Academy.
Those arriving for education or training must report at the Student Affairs Office, which is located in Building A, to the right of the main entrance.
Training ground and learning environments
The facilities of the Emergency Services Academy campus and its comprehensive training ground offer unique opportunities for practising rescue operations, emergency care, and emergency response centre operations.

Restaurant Tulikukko
Restaurant Tulikukko is open from Monday to Friday to the degree students, continuing professional education students, personnel, and guests of the Emergency Services Academy.
